Palin Talk, Pitlochry 29/1/2005 by Saintwatty on 29 November 2004 1:12pm

Hey guys,
i have bought tickets for Michael doing a talk at Pitlochry Festival Theatre on 29 Jan 2005.

Well looking forward to it, has anyone been to one of his talks before and if they have are they highly enjoyable, i have bought friends tickets for xmas too just wanted to know what to expect.

There seemed to be plenty tickets left when i ordered them, 14 pounds each.

Was at this on Saturday night past, wonderful night, what a top bloke Michael is.

Spoke about how he wrote his Himalaya book for 45 mins then it was an open floor for the next 45 mins with the audience firing questions at him.

Thoroughlly entertaining stuff.

Questions i can remember were, how many pairs of underpants do you take on your trips? Answer:5(marks and spencers briefs)

What is the best thing you have eaten?answer: lots of different stuff but don't be afraid to try the local cuisine, its worth gettin a sore stomach for and its polite.

Some daft question about body language which Michael did well to turn into an entertaining anecdote.

How are the trips researched? answer:a lot of volunteers help in the researching and also apply to be porters for lugging equipment about on the actual filming.

Do you keep up with any of the people u meet on your travels?? answer: its kinda hard too cos of their pysical location however he would love to go back and meet some of the treasured friends he made during his travels, He does e-mail the young chap who showed him around the Sikh temple(?)

Erm strugglin to remember any more just now, get my thinking cap on though.
