I'm back with a million links by purple on 19 January 2005 10:09pm

Well, not much really...
Hello all Palinites!
I'm back again but many circumstances have kept me down, mainly internet probs and preparing for final exams at school.

I'm still into Michael's works, I loved Himalaya when it was on the ABC! I watched 4 of the 6 episodes (blame my VCR) and enjoyed what I saw immensely. I probably never knew where some of these places where until Michael put it into a series, which tells you I need to get out more! The people and places he visited seemed so amazing.
I have contemplated to write to Michael, but my letter has come up blank. I have a million questions to ask but is it worth it? The idea is bugging me, I have no idea what to put into words!
Aside from that, I've been looking up info on what he's been up to all this time.
In the publicity rounds he did in Australia, he didn't come to my home town in Perth! At least he was on Rove [Live] and The Panel (my fav talk shows), so that was good enough for me, now I just like to see him on The Glass House one day! (that's a late night comedy chat show).
He also interviewed on various radio stations for the ABC. I found all these links to these chats and they're a couple of months old. I'd love to hear what other Palinites have to say. So, if you like a squeeze on what he said check it out:

Enjoy! I hope to find more! It's good to be back!

Love and hugs,
Laura

Currently listening to the "ABC - Almost in perth yay!!" clip. Great stuff. Thanks for the links. They're currently discussing his spotlessly clean clothes wherever he goes. The Triple J one was funny. Michael talking about the man who wrote a love poem to a Yak. The Aussie presenters were laughing "Oh yeah...right!!" (as if, "yeah pull the other one". And Michael has to convince him it was real. And him singing the Lumberjack song in German..LOL

Purple,

I liked the 3 Melbourne interviews. Because the presenter was very interested in travel in those regions, and had obviously watched the series and read the book it seems before the interview. So he asked Michael some very tricky questions on that interview (which was good, because some of the other interviews in other regions were quirky but didn't go into much depth). The presenter was asking him questions such as why in each series they stay fairly clear of going into the politics of visited countries, michael's own view of politics in some regions, and what he thinks his shows could have as impact upon small tribes etc. Michael came up with some good answers but was suprised by questions i think. In that way, a very interesting program because the presenter had some thought provoking questions there.

Godfather,
You hit the nail on the head there. I have to agree with you, the Melbourne interview is the better of the lot, simply because it does give more detailed insight into Michael's journey.
Even though they're all good in their own way, my particular favourite is when he was in Brisbane. I know it's not as serious or as in-depth as the Melbourne interview. I loved Micheal's re-take of the parrot sketch. His act hasn't changed a bit (is that good thing?).
I wish I could have been there in the audience for that one!
