Hi Blazes, do you have a TEFL course in mind? While there are quite a few flavours about, the Cambridge courses, CELTA, seem to be the most universally accepted. Out in Asia, its all about what certificate you have. Sounds like youll have an amazing time though.
If youre looking for a place to start TEFL teaching in Asia, where you can get some cash saved then you might want to consider Korea or Taiwan. The cost of living there is fairly cheap and the pay for native speakers is usually good if you can land the right deal. Taiwan is a nice place too, quite westernised and certainly around Taipei, you can get by with a fair bit of english and pointing, until your mandarin improves.
