Do people realy feel afraid (outside the U.S ) when going about their daily lives ? Although we've recently had a terrorist incident in Scotland, I go about life (and does my wife ) without that type of fear. But I'm a mean son-of -a -bitch and since it's a small town my wife is safe through that. Her ugliness also helps and the fact she is Glaswegian. ;)

I go about life as normal, prehaps with a bit more vigilance.

I live near an RAF base (supply wing) which could've been a target I suppose (they have now left and it is now a Gurkha base (my Dad would've been thrilled - he fought alongside them in Burma and had nothing but praise for them)).

The city in Turkey where we have our apartment has had many bombs (remember the dolmus (minibus) bomb? That was on a route we use if we don't have a car). PKK (Kurdish terrorists) but bombs all the same.

We go about our daily lives there as normal, but with perhaps a little more care. We were there when 9/11 happened, and got on that very dolmus (or at least that route) and an Iraqi chap was telling us how much he hated the Americans.

Within reason, I don't mind the extra time taken in airports for searches etc. At the end of the day it is MY safety after all!! Flying internally in India, we were searched at least three times including as we went up the steps of the plane.

And Wolverhampton.

And Hanley (Stoke-on-Trent)

And Stafford.
