McCain's speech was strong, but yes, he had that look as though he was surprised to be there.
Cindy McCain's speech seemed more on the money.
No question, if it were not for Sarah Palin, McCain's campaign would be drifting. The Republicans would see him as what they are stuck with.
Both tickets worry me, then again, look @ the last eight years. I hesitate to ask if it can get worse.
(Don't wanna jinx it).

The TIMES had a nice cartoon caption yesterday:--
"Sarah Palin is a real shot in the arm for this campaign" (says John McCain).
The drawing showed John McCain holding up his bleeding,bandaged-up arm,and Sarah proudly grinning, holding a rather large assault rifle...Ha!

At least it's reassuring to know that Sarah Palin has an enlightened pastor,Mike Rose,of the Juneau Christian Center... In a recent address to his congregation(which includes the Palin family),he said:
"...If you are really looking to know where you came from, you are NOT the descendant of a chimpanzee...This is what the Word of God affirms, and I believe this version..."
...ermm,WHICH version? Does the Word of God make mention of chimpanzees,anywheres?..Notwithstanding,I feel inclined to agree with Pastor Rose---I simply believe what my Family Tree tells me,that I am the descendant of a long line of baboons. lol

Yes, welcome back to the liberals ANY side of the Atlantic, Mike. I'm having fun reading about Sarah P. in newspapers here.

(What about those children's names, poor souls?- at least that's the feeling here)

In a thousand years people will be looking back and thinking "Damn they were primitive! They still believed in the Bible and had a two-party system!"

Funnily enough I was saying to my husband the other day about people in a thousand or so years saying 'what a primitive lot THEY were!!' but I was talking about computers and things.

No - in a thousand years they'll find laptops, ipods, etc and laugh themselves silly. Or think how quaint they are.

Well thinking about it, actually THAT will probably happen in a decade or so !! Look how funny mobiles from the '80s look now!!
