The new Alaska License Plate.

(Couldn't get the image to work) Where the Air is Cold and the Governor is Hot Alaska O'Mama I'll send it as an email to anyone interested.
I asked my cousins who are friends with McCain about the choice of Sarah Palin. They are over the moon about it. My mother on the other hand...My mother does not know her cousin as well as she thinks.
I am throwing in a link about my cousin.

Talking about licence plates, when we were in Florida about 8 years ago we bought one that reads something like 'When I'm dead bury me upside down so the world can kiss my ass' (sorry).

We had it on the front of our old car and have transferred it to the new one. Only ever had one or two people disapprove - most think it's hilarious and you often get people having a double take !

We also have one with manatees on (we were and still are very taken with manatees. We swam with them and also did a special tour at Sea World to learn about them; also we have adopted one).

Anyway; I wanted to get one with a Staffie on to give the husband as a stocking filler last Xmas but could I get one that looked like Tosun? No!! They were either brown or white or whatever but not black and white like him!!

;(

Just because no one said this: the Bible states that God created humans after he created everything else, so if you take a literal translation, we can't have descended from apes.

I don't know why God couldn't have put a kink in the evolutionary process that led to humans. Why not? Personally, I'm a Christian and pro-choice, pro-evolution, pro-gay, etc. We do exist, we're just not as loud and flashy as the others.

Now that a few days have passed since the convention, it looks as if Sarah Palin wasn't the guaranteed point scorer they thought she was going to be. The Repulicans raised $1M after her speech; the Obama campaign raised $10M. Maybe that's just Democrats running scared, but it worked, didn't it?

Fasten your seatbelts, Americans, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

More grist.

If you haven't seen it yet, it's a letter from someone who's known Sarah Palin since 1992. It's fairly even-handed, reporting good and bad things. But it still sounds like Palin is not the candidate for me. I found the letter on the Urban Legends website--they researched it and found it to be genuine.

She doesn't even believe in abortion for victims of rape and incest. That is so wrong - beyond religion - it's not civilized to force a woman to bear a child after that.

Republicans are always touting freedom - yet seek so much to limit it when it counts the most, and is the most personal.

There was an interview yesterday on NPR with Anne Kilkenny who wrote that letter about Sarah Palin. She's become an instant celebrity and is deluged with media contacting her. It's quite funny.

I posted the letter on my blog, I am now writing about what drives politicians from Families and How to Survive Them.
The latest? Spending for Obama increased tenfold since the Republican convention.
My mother and my sister called angrily. They were McCain supporters, until....
