GWB knows what he's going to do with 1583 acres of Texas and 95% of his advisers think he doesn't.

How many "nodding donkeys" can you fit on a 1583 acre ranch?

Has he got oil there? I'm surprised he hasn't started drilling before this.

Well,I did write about the ranch being very small for Texas. So, I'll shut up now because they cut me off.

Just how BIG is a ranch in Texas ? My
garden is the size of a postage stamp.

Regardsxx

Forgot about the golf: reading about the last press conference, sounded as if he didn't have much of a clue. I hear through the grapevine he's begged the Blairs to come & stay n his ranch in Texas, wonder if they will, or if that'll be embarrassing for them.

I should be sorry for Laura, i sometimes feel (yes, OK, she chose the guy) - but she comes across so well.

Anyway, thanks! (And bye, Ginny, and Good Luck, if this reaches you.)

Laura is a real gem as is Barbara. The girls are lovely too. They made some mistakes while young, but we all did. Can't hold anything against them for that. And they have felt the pain of the criticism of their dad very deeply. Makes me feel awful for them. I know it hurts them. After all, it's their dad and a lot of love there.

Indeed, Patty, and you will take this the right way: we can applaud that they're a close family: he's spoken publicly of his debt to Laura, and I believe the girls have been doing unsung voluntary stuff in Africa.Marvellous.

I always remember seeing Barbara, just after having her hand kissed by Mrs. Thatcher's husband (he had no clue about strong women apart from Thatcher) - she picked up his hand and kissed it right back. (Denis's action had gone down a treat with Raisa Gorbachev). I did think what a no-nonsense good woman she seemed.
