Lol! And you wonder why bIG never appears on the site in the morning ? That was his morning routine depicted in that clip. :)

jtm: I may be a bit dusty but no one would mix me up with Dustin Hoffman,or with Dusty Springfield for that matter.

I'm touched bIG that you remember that I like Dusty Springfield. :)

The Wet Tent

It's raining in my tent,
And I am getting wet,
There's a puddle in the doorway,
How much soggier can it get!?

The shoes are getting soaked,
And the wellies are helping - NOT,
We may have to "ABANDON SHIP!!!",
And take everything we've got.

There is mud and there is duck poo,
But the swans just flap and dip,
Unlike we poor old humans,
Who may have to, "ABANDON SHIP!!!".

I think we need a drier tent,
Before I decide to flip,
Let's take the Micra out of here,
For God's sake, "ABANDON SHIP!!!".

Get me out of this soggy tent,
But be careful not to trip,
Ducks, swans, and campers first,
Let's all, "ABANDON SHIP!!!".

Hope you like this. I wrote it a few weeks back when we were camping in Sherwood Forest. It rained so bad, the tent began to flood, as the groundsheet is not fitted, and we eventually had to leave.

Good observations Terry. :)
I've been in that situation many years ago.

I do though, love the feeling of being in a tent when the wind is blowing and the rain is horizontal, yet you feel secure from the elements. Quite primal I suppose but I just love that feeling of being 'cooried in' to your own wee space as if the world can't touch you.

I realise that most of you won't know what 'coorie in' or 'coorie doon ' means. It just means snuggle up and feel comfortable from the world. Here is a link to a song/poem from the great Matt McGinn.
