Scotland didnae qualify.

When I saw Teves (Manchester City ex United) was playing for Argentina I changed my prediction to an Argentina win. 7 - 6!

Re: World Cup Predictions by kazzzz on 12 June 2010 3:59pm

Well they wouldn't do, they're Scottish.....

Re: World Cup Predictions by Wild in Africa on 12 June 2010 5:27pm

Scotland are not in cos' they're crap at football as a national team (some good club sides though) and hence didn't qualify.
I think the 6-0 prediction for Nigeria vs Argentina was tad optimistic in hindsight.

I'm trying to find a coffee shop here in Khartoum to watch the England USA match and hope I'm not the only England supporter on the premises. I remember being in a little bar in southern Ethiopia watching David Beckham get the red card in 1998 and watching England lose to Portugal from the UN club in Islamabad in 2006 so have a long track record of watching England lose from exotic locations.
I did see the England 1966 World Cup victory though so have experienced that at least once in my lifetime.

GODDAMIT, why there is NO BLASTED GOALKEEPER in this country?! This really pisses me off.
The only comfort is that probably M.P. is watching it too sitting in the bar in Bologna and as pissed off about that as me.

I see it's 1 - 1 for England at the moment.

If you subtract 6 goals each from my Argentina v Nigeria prediction then my forecast was right!

Bloody shame. Am very angry.

Aargh! What a horrific error from Green. Really, playing at this level and making a schoolboy mistake like that. That is not Cup Winning style from England.
I did manage to find an Egyptian Shisha bar where through clouds of fragrant smoke and refreshed by alcohol free beer I managed to watch the match along with a crowd of Egyptian and Sudanese men who were mostly behind England.

Re: World Cup Predictions by Ken Dunn on 12 June 2010 10:26pm

I've been watching the telly since the rugby game finished and I've seen the England goal about 6 times and their goalkeeper's fumble about 4 times!
~
I'll not need to watch the highlights of the match later. Maybe I should to see some of the USA's overall performance.

I felt bad when Green let that goal in--after I finished being shocked. So what's next if you tie?

Re: World Cup Predictions by peripatetically on 13 June 2010 1:13pm

Let'sput it this way.... As Americans have learned when it comes to sports, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME TO ANY TEAM ON ANY GIVEN DAY. OTHERWISE, THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR A GAME TO BE PLAYED.

Enough said about the error on England's part.
