The Chatter Box : Blathering On

Re: Poem :) by Ken Dunn on 16 July 2005 12:05am
I've just dug out a few of my ancient poems that I think could be enjoyed by palinites.

In this life we make love
Kissing sex friends on the way
That's why it's so important
To brush your teeth each day.

A little explanation on the next one. Where I used to work the employees had a habit of celebrating special occasions in the nearest pub and the 4th year apprentices that I taught asked me to write an invite to their apprenticeship completion party.

Four years done
From day one
Of our time
Here's a rhyme
Short and sweet
Keeps it neat
All can come
For some fun
In yacht club
Over way
Noon Friday
One on us
With no fuss
See you then
(Wrote by Ken)

And a couple of seasonal ones:

At Christmas time it's good
To eat a lot of food
But on Boxing Day
We go to ground
Because our stomach's very round.

This next one is specific to Scotland as I used to know it but it may also apply elsewhere:

At Hogmanay up here
They drink a lot of beer
But on New Year's Day
They're not so frisky
Because they finish off on whisky.
