Writing Excercises.Re: Writing--This is for you, Mike! by tucsonmike on 14 November 2005 4:03am

If anyone wants, I would be willing to post some writing excercises, or someone else can start a theme and we can add to it.

We can use this thread as a writing tool if folks want and I can help with it.
We can take someones idea and build a story around it.

Mike

Building a story sounds like fun. One with a travel theme, perhaps? How would you organize it?

The travel theme sounds good Sight. Either I can start it off, or someone else can, then people just add to it.

Let me know. I have to go write.

I wish I could write about travel. :-[

I write about what I think it would be like to travel. It might be "childish", but it satisfies my desire to write about travel. Hey, it works.

Speaking of writing, does anybody keep a journal in here? I've just started keeping one regularly, and find it much easier to write and keep plot lines if I just jot random things down throughout the day. Any other journal keepers here?

I am not much of a journal keeper. I seem to write at random. I will then bear down on something. Example. I am finally bearing down on my public speaking book because I have the talk to do in March. I realized, my 9/11 book, just needs one more interview. Otherwise, I just go where the spirit will take me. I suspect I find a journal constraining.

Hmm, I seem to be the opposite. When I write in my journal, more material seems to flood my mind and I find myself catching more details about the area around me.
