NEW MYANMAR PHOTOGRAPHY by Mystic Traveller on 4 April 2007 2:34pm

I just got back from Myanmar after four weeks travelling there. This was my third trip to that beautiful country. So, please checkout my latest photography project at http://themystictraveller.com/Myanmar/index.html

Oh, Michael, if Basil Pao should ever get sick, please give us a call. ;)

The people look happier than their wretched government is.

Great photos! I went to Myanmar last year and probably went to the very same places you visited (and even met the same people...)! Tucsonmike is right, the people of Myanmar are extremly friendly and polite and as a tourist you always feel welcome. This is amazing considering all they had (and still have) to endure because of their oppressive regime. I saw people (even children) doing hard labour to repair a mountain street, risking their lives and breaking their backs. Still, they showed a strength and a dignity which are difficult to forget. I just hope it's not a sign of resignation....
