This damn war is interfering with everything! by canaveralgumby on 3 April 2003 8:39pm

Saw Michael on Late Show w/Conan O'Brien last night. If I sneezed I might have missed it. Other than Conan holding up the "Sahara" book, they didn't talk about it much. He spoke of 37 yrs. of marriage (and the 4 amazing days they've spent together!) He told stories we've heard before about questionable things he's eaten. No video whatsoever.

AND THEN they brought out this author, a former US Marine whose book about the Gulf War is on the best-seller lists in the US. They gave him an inordinately long time to talk about his book. This guy's been on every network in the US promoting this book. Saturation marketing. And in order to jump on the bandwagon and book him, Conan's producers gave him half of Michael's time! Not anyone else's.

(in my best Cartman voice) GODDAMNIT!

But geez Michael looks good. Even though it's been years since he's changed his clothes. :^)

You noticed that too, Cori? The clothes , the lack of coverage about the series and the book. Also it was the same old information we always get. Conan didn' do much of an interview. No wonder Micahel doesn't spend muh time in the USA!

Drats!

Conan O'Brien isn't going to provide us with anything too deep. Isn't that obvious?

I saw the interview too, on Australian satellite TV today...it was great to see Michael, as always.
I suppose these interviews are only allowed a short period of time, so it's hard to get very indepth...
When he was out here earlier in the year a lot of the interviews were very similar..talking about strange foods he has eaten on his travels.
In fact, it was almost identical to an interview he did here on a talk show...
maybe there's a standard formula?
