I ADMIT IT. I WAS WRONG. by Wheelrim on 20 July 2007 11:12am

From the start I admitted I was a bit of a Numpty with regard to computors.
I have just had a `Look around the site` in a bit more detail, y`know, pushing buttons where I have not dared before, and guess what, I came back to the `Welcomes and Introductions` bit, I never realised that I `Started` on there (though the header IS a give-away I know), but I have only just seen the kind welcomes from the people on the site, god! even JTM sounds almost normal to begin with. Maybe, because I have not been on a `Chat` site before I did not realise that some of you guys are in fact, old mates, have been chatting for some time, I admit being naieve in that respect and just took it for granted that people just hang around for a few days or weeks then bugger off, like I did.
If its Ok with you good people I would ask if I can stick around and get to know you a bit better, I promise i`ll behave and bring the biscuits on saturdays when I can.

Still looking for the DVD though.......

Welcome Wheelrim. Just play along with JTM. He is working on his career as a columnist. Biting bedbugs (oops, I mean wit) and sarcasm. To quote Python and the Piranha Brothers, "he used sarcasm."

Jeeez, thanks guys. I was clearing the garage out today, found some of the Old Mans `Scribblings`, this gem of wisdom attributed to Willem Hendrik Van Loon.

"High up in the frozen north stands an enormous mountain. Once every one hundred years a small bird flies to this mountain and sharpens his beak on it. When this mountain has thus been worn away, then a single day of eternity will have passed by"

Something to think on eh?

Oh, PalinLover... My first foray to the US saw me land in the windy city, 1985, landed at O`Hare without even knowing really where Chicago was. No Accomodation booked so ended up in YMCA for a couple of nights, then hitched a lift to NY with a guy who had a huge truck full of the sound equip for the North American Van Morrison Tour! stayed with the driver for 3 nights, `sharing the stage` at the Chicago University, and meeting Van-the-man himself, got dropped off in Buffalo..Loads happened on that trip.......

Mary, its a combination of many factors which can tell where a person is from....
When reading what you have written on a PC I can detect an accent, also, the style of writing, and many years of practice. Intuition plays a great part too in determining where a person hails from, I believe you were born and have spent almost all of your life so far, in Chicago?

Oh Yes.....

..It helps also that your details are easily read in the Vital Statistics section!
