Jimmys Diner 8/8/07 by tucsonmike on 9 August 2007 1:37am

Today was nuts. The four city workers came in. Jena had broken her toe and was having to wait tables AND cook, so she was NOT a happy camper. The five men (me included were getting hell AND being told what we could eat).

Then Roger came in. He looks and sounds like the old Western actor Gabby Hayes. He made oodles of money selling mobile homes. I get investment advice from him.
Jena's daughter showed up with a pet snake then. I almost fell out of the chair, I thought it was a Coral Snake.

I may go to Toastmasters, but the ballgame is on. (Lazy git, I am supposed to be writing).

LOL Mike , I remember Gabby Hayes ! We used to try to mimic him when we were kids watching the old movies.
Your hang out place ( Jimmy's ) sounds like fun. Are you allowed to get a bit pissed though and chat up the staff ? My speciality, though I've married and divorced 7 barmaids .

Jimmys provides me with all sorts of entertainment. I also find out about items that are available, get tutored in Spanish, so every time I show up there is an adventure.

Every time I go out the door is an adventure. I could write a lot of books myself Mike.

Glad to hear Jimmys is still a feature of your life, Mike! It always sounds such a great place to eat, and socialise. I hope its future is now secure.
And, by the way,I hope you're quite recovered now.

I don't remember Gabby Hayes (though of course I'm several decades younger than you Johnny!!

I DO remember having a crush on Roy Rogers when I was a young child. Those were the days!!!

;-)

Thanks Linda, I am a lot better. Yes, it is never a dull moment in Jimmys.

I gave Jena copies of my information from the PR Store, therefore, hopefully she can publicize more.

Is there someone there who is actually called Jimmy? Coz I've found that there is never anyone at Starbucks called Buck.

Jimmy is the original owner. Originally, the railroad car was towed on a trailer, throughout Tucson's South Side.

I do like the idea of taking your food to the customers, not always the other way!

Kazzz, There is a chain of betting shops called Paddy Power (ie that's supposed to be his name) in north London & until recently I thought it was a proud nationalist slogan: What a great idea to call betting shops after their Irish roots, I thought.
Dumb or what?
