*Possible ways you would greet Michael* by MMMmmm... on 20 December 2007 10:42pm

For some reason as I was surfing my way towards the website just now, this occurred to me as how I was feeling, and how I would greet Michael today if I knew him as a friend: (smiling) Howdy, Howdy, Howdy, kiss, kiss, kiss - european style where you alternate cheeks. Now, I hope I'm not getting myself in some sort of trouble: does anyone ever say "howdy" there anymore, does it have some alternate scathy meaning I don't know about? For some reason it was just how I felt today, coming to visit "Michael", and all of you here...

Michael is a Northern lad from Sheffield. I can't imagine that he would go in for all that 'luvvy' stuff. A firm handshake or a slap round the face with a fish would probably be more to his liking.
BTW, I don't think anyone here ever said " howdy " !

I would greet him as Mr. Palin, unless told otherwise, I reckon. Mama told me it ain't nice to do it any other way. If he told me I could address him by first name,I would.

*I didn't realize I was being so "luvvy"!* But that's helpful too about the howdy!

I guess it's short for How do you do? I never thought or learned about it before...

Us Americans, you know, always trying to take short cuts!

Here are some possible ways you should NOT greet Michael:

Wassup yo?

Sup homie?

How's it hangin'?

Give me some skin!

Lol, Miss-M! XP

I would probably sputter a lot and turn as red as a beet and shake his hand and hope for a hug. I'd probably call him Mr. Palin too, just out of respect. Oh goodness, I'm all a flutter just thinking about meeting him!
