Have fun. I was watching New Europe last night when Mr. P was in Turkey. I would love to see Istanbul. Cappadocia (sp) looks fascinating but will not go there in Winter. There was white stuff on the ground. Edirne looked cold damp and dreary, except for the mosques.

I'm back (did I hear collective palinite cheers?!!).

Had a good but tiring week. We went to Pamukkale (4th visit) for a couple of days with a Turkish friend, we have known him for about 20 years. It was our treat as he hasn't much money - but he is so talented. He makes leather masks (NO not those sort - sort of carved into faces and you hang them on the wall. They are soooo good).

We also spent a day in Sirince which is a small village (near Epheseus) high in the mountains and the houses are still the same as they were years ago. They make beautiful fruit wines there, we have brought back 4 bottles; Pomegranite, Strawberry, Peach and Kiwi. The tasting was very good - we tried about a dozen flavours and there was none of this spitting it out!! After 4 or so they all tasted delicious!

Then on Sunday we cooked a traditional English (British?) meal for 6 of our friends (plus a 2-year old) - soup, roast beef and yorkshire puds (which they hadn't seen before), carrots, broccolli, cauliflower, peas (all fresh from the market); bisto(!), roast and mashed pots, then trifle and fresh fruit salad. They loved it! But it was quite tiring.

Oh well, only 7 weeks before our next trip!!!
