The Chatter Box : Blathering On

New Europe (Eastern Europe) by bogo on 12 February 2008 5:23pm

Just two notes on last night's episode from New Europe.
First, Britain HAD a great deal of philosophers. Of course most of the exponential ones between the 17th and 19th century. (Francis Bacon, John Locke, Henry Moore, John Stuart Mill) Of course with the advent of the industrial revolution, less and less time was devoted to such insignificant blathering, as philosophy. Progress was the word of the day.
Now for being suspended in "eternity". What is for a human "eternity"? Most definitely not the present time. For most its just the past, with its sweet melancholic flavor. For the visionaries, its the future, but then again you have to be really brave there. I hope this elucidates it.
