Shortbread disaster by kazzzz on 6 December 2008 11:25pm

I made the first batch of the season yesterday and the oven in this place is so good, they all burnt:( They were only in for not even 10 mins!!!
I shall be making more today and trying not to eat TOO many ;)

Burning them isn't the disaster, Kaz. It's EATING them that's the disaster! xxx

Re: Shortbread disaster by kazzzz on 6 December 2008 11:35pm

Well I ate the not so burnt ones;)

Hm, I can smell the burnt ones all the way across the pacific and USA to the east coast! Keep your eyes on the oven. No more "Oops!"

Do they sell Dean's or Walker's shortbread in OZ? Which do you prefer? Everybody can chime in with their preference. Just wondering.

They are both made in Scotland. I never see Dean's here but we see Walker's everywhere.

Oh, I LOOOOVE Walker's! They have so much fat, though! I guess that's why they're so good.

I haven't made Christmas cookies in years. Maybe I'll do it this year.

Oh yes they're terrible! Practically all butter, dreadful when you think about it , that's why I DON'T think about it! AND I ice them.

My Mom has made 3 batches of chocolate chip so far. Or at elast the dough. This week I'll help her actually bake them. And of course, I'll be the QC team. lol
