Is anyone a fan of ARNIE? by bIG bLOGGER on 1 June 2009 4:59pm

I read an interesting piece in our GUARDIAN (2) on 28th May,a feature article about the Governor of California,Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is an Austrian national.

Arnold has built for himself essentially 3 careers:-as a bodybuilder,a movie star, and now a politician.
He said (quote): "..Like in bodybuilding, going through the pain barrier, that's what makes the muscles grow...there's this pain, this awful aching which goes on and on,but that's what divides a champion from a non-champion--having the guts to go through the pain barrier."

That got me thinking that he may have a point here: pain is daunting and troublesome and difficult to tolerate,but-like his indestructible cyborg character in the TERMINATOR,-maybe that is what separates the mortals from the immortals?

Pah!! I read this as 'Is anyone a fan of ANNIE?', i.e. ME !!

Oh well, to answer your question, not particularly although I adore the film Junior!! It's his best film I think!

Initially I used to think he was the most bloody awful actor I had seen. Then I actually got to like his movies (recently bought a boxed set of Terminator/Predator/Commando) and see him as a big lumbering idiot who is idiotically likeable. Not so keen on him as a politico though and dread the future calls for Arnie for President which I am sure are inevitable.

He can't run for President under the present constitution. He could be Vice-President and take over for the President, so there is a loophole.

Arnold for President, with Sarah Palin as his VP. And me and my passport lost in Europe somewhere.
