Which books do you recommend? by mrsteabag on 11 July 2009 1:34am

On a related topic to what's everyone reading, name five books that you recommend to others. Mine are:
The Mists of Avalon, Marian Zimmer Bradley
Hundreds and Thousands, Emily Carr
My Life in France, Julia Child
Fur Kids,William Buchanan
and of course, The Python Years

Palin's Himalaya
Palin's ATWIED
Reinhold Messner's All Fourteen 8000'ers
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Les Dawson's A Clown Too Many.

Some of this choice is not for the faint hearted.

The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown

Angels and Demons, Dan Brown
[These are the best of his works though his others are good too)

The Harry Potter Books

Marley and Me, John Grogan (must be read with a plentiful supply of tissues!!)

The Sound of Laughter, Peter Kay (funny, funny, funny!!)

A Clockwork Orange, Anthony Burgess (read this last year and found it even better than the brilliant film (which I saw in 1972 in Leicester Square))

Omigod thats 6!! And there are so many more!! Such as the James Herriot series of Vet books; Agatha Christie; and of course not forgetting the Brother Cadfael books by Ellis Peters.

:)

The James Herriot books are wonderful, I agree!!!

Also, Peter Mahle's books based on his experiences in Provence. They are a delight!
