Just to let you know that I came home from hospital on Sunday after a week as an in-patient. The op went well but I will need either some radiotherapy or another op to remove the lymph nodes in my groins depending on the result of the biopsy on the lymph node that was taken. I will find out next Monday when I have my follow-up appointment.

I am living on pain killers and still can't sit properly but it's getting easier every day. I have to my fanny area clean and dry so I have frequent showers and then dry with a hair dryer! Different sort of blow-dry eh?

The hospital was wonderful with one failing - the food. Worst hospital food I've ever had (and I've had a few). I found the Caribbean food the least offensive and ate goat curry nearly every day!

Glad to hear you are back home, Linz. Hope that you will not have to have the other operation.

Sorry about the hospital food! I was in hospital in Wales two years ago and I must admit the food wasn't bad at all.

Good luck next Monday.

Well, I am going to need 5 - 6 weeks of radiotherapy and a ct scan in case the cancer has spread from the lymph node. I am pretty hopeful as it is not an aggressive one.

I should start the radiotherapy in 2 -3 weeks time and I've been told that I will feel very tired so I may not be able to post for a while.

We certainly understand, Linz. Although you won't be here to post, you will be thought of often and we'll miss you. Take as much time as you need and take it easy during your treatments. If you pop in, it will be a pleasant surprise. If not, we'll know where you are and why.

All the bst when you begin your round.
