Yep Missy and I are having them tomorrow! We're meeting up for lunch at one of our fave restaurants, the Pancake Parlour, for some Palinny pancake fun. Really looking forward to seeing my claggy comrade :)

Ah, I had "breakfast for dinner" on monday, cause the canadians in our campus decided to make pancakes for a friend of ours (celebrating her birthday)... Yummy! :)

I'm having french toast for dinner tonight with Mom. Nobody else to worry about so we're going to have fun food! Willy will get a few bites too. He loves it!

Yes, mike, I had pancakes... Was that the written equivalent pf a Canadian accent?

And Patty, what do you call French toasts?

I'm sure this isn't the proper definition of french toast, but when I was little my sister used to do me 'french toast' sometimes for breakfast.

It was bread toasted on one side only (sometimes she would do it with the toasting fork over the fire!) and buttered on the non-toasted side.

It was delish!!

:)

I used to go to a place called Double Dutch before it closed. The pancakes were okay, but I wouldn't go mad on them.

French Toast, USA style:

Whisk together eggs, milk, salt and pepper.
Dredge white bread in the mixture, allow to drip.
Fry until brown on both sides on a hot griddle.

Some people use rye bread, whole wheat or just plain white.

Toppings can vary from syrup to jelly to cinnamin to powdered or just plain white granulated sugar.

I'm somewhat of a purest and like to dab my bite-sized toast morsels in a little pile of granulated sugar set on the side of my plate! Yum

Pats if that's really French toast, you need to add some fromage and an escargot.
