Reintroduction of the MP Drinking Game by canaveralgumby on 20 May 2003 6:17am

Having finished viewing "Sahara," I see that some things never change with MP's travels! Here's the game (you must be of legal drinking age - the substitution of Reese's or Three Musketeers miniatures IS allowed).

Watch ANY Michael Palin travel show. Have a shot every time Michael:

*reports on the toilet facilities

*discusses irrelevant minutiae about trains

*appears to be getting hit on by a woman
** 2 SHOTS any time he appears to be getting hit on by a man

*tries to add drama to the situation by saying "the connection is vital"

*continues haplessly to carry on a conversation with someone who obviously doesn't understand a word he's saying

*does a one-on-one interview with someone really interesting
** 2 SHOTS any time he interviews someone really UNinteresting
** also 2 SHOTS any time he interviews someone on the verge of hostility

*just happens to find a fellow Englishman in the middle of friggin' nowhere
** 2 SHOTS if it's a Yorkshireman

*hangs out with any old, bearded man

*AND... (and this should only be done by the hardcore drinker/chocolate consumer):

*says "SORT OF"!

Have fun! - C

Cori,
I laughed my arse off when I first saw this on the MPUAP.
Very clever!
..can I add one? how about eating a chockie/having a shot when he makes a Python reference to someone-- and he gets the blank stare or polite chuckle.
Cracks me up every time.
I think Barry from Full Circle had never seen the dead parrot sketch...as an example...

LOL! Great list Cori! Can I add another one too?

Ok... Good :)

Take a shot/nibble of choccie when Michael tries to sing and take TWO if he sings well. :)

Haha, that's brilliant - I'll be trying that if I can convince any of my friends to watch it with me. Maybe I should try and make up a Python one, then i'd have a fighting chance...
Saz xxoo

I think we should add a shot/choccie every time Michael gets the giggles.

Or every time he acknowledges the crew and gets a reply from Nigel who shakes or nods the camera. (Hand gestures in shot from Nigel would also be included in this one!)

Cheers

Hehe That game sounds like fun! Unfortunately i'm not good at handling liquor. I get bombed on one Long Island Iced Tea. So if i followed the game using shots, i'd be plastered after the 2nd or 3rd shot. lol. I guess that leads me to eating chocolate. which isn't so bad because i love chocolate! YUM!

Tracy - we won't tell anyone if you decide to drink alcohol.

[Dianne encouraging a young girl to drink] I'm evil! hehehehehe
