Farewell Tennant by perfectbitch on 3 January 2010 11:03am
Did anyone else watch the final 2 episodes of Dr. Who? I hadn't seen it for a while (kind of since Billy Piper left) but decided to watch Tennant's last performance as the doctor. I was sobbing - it was so much more emotional than any of the other regenerations. He's such a very good actor.

I was surprised that it was so emotional as it aimed at young children.

Hi Linz.

Well as I said in another thread (think it MAY have been Xmas TV?) I watched it and was a blubbering wreck!

Mainly because I have watched all variations of the Doctor and David Tennant has been by far the best. It was hard to let him go *sob sob*.

I thought the 2 episodes were excellent (apart from the fact that DT went (*sob a bit more*); but I have to agree with the husband when he said that it would be quite confusing for a child to follow. Maybe they write it more for adults now?

I missed them unfortunately.

I've made a video for him. I miss him, but I'm getting quite excited to see how Matt is going to handle such a big important role :) Here's the link to the video if anyone wants to see it:

Here's a funny story.. a neighbour of my parents said they once found Dr. Who (Tom Baker I think) drunk on their doorstep in a Sydney suburb one morning..

I wonder what they said to him.. "uh.. sorry I think you have the wrong Tardis!" :)

I wouldn't mind finding David Tennant on my doorstep one morning....!!

Never seen any Dr. Who episodes with Tennant.. is there a particular reason why some people think he's the best? (Tom Baker won the best Doctor award every time except twice)..

@Ev, here's my opinion. Tennant seems to be natural with his performance and he displays any emotion perfectly. He has this loveable quality about him that I can't explain. He can take a piece of dialogue and make it even funnier than it already is. He's able to be youthful but still be an experience older person (I mean, come on. He is over 900 years old!) Plus, he has that wild look in his eyes, which I think is perfect for The Doctor :D

He's also cuter than the others.

He brought an undefinable quality to the character - maybe a combination of humour and PASSION - that hadn't been seen before.

He's definitely the cutest.
