Help, please? by TERRY S on 10 January 2010 7:44pm
If someone gave you the definition, "Someone who was determined to make a difference in 2010", who would you come up with? It's for a contest and I'm a bit stuck. So far I've got the Dalai Lhama, Barak Obama and Don said Michael Schumacher.

Any off you nice people got any ideas? Thanks. Best one wins virtual choccie egg.

My son and daughter-in-law's baby, due March??

Well, he or she will make a difference in 2010 because (s)he did not exist before!!

But being serious - Gordon Brown?

Hmm.How about...no. Maybe--uh uh.What about...oh,bleep it.
Seriously, what about Richard Gere? He's speaking out for both Tibet and Palestine.

Someone who should make a difference in 2010 is Tiger Woods. But i think that due to the fact that her show ends next year, Oprah Winfrey, I'm not a fan, will be considered the most influential person of 2010, she'll make a BIG exit, so just my humble opinion, but Oprah Winfrey is the one.

HOw about if we ALL do good and make a difference? Regardless of how small it might seem to us, it might mean a lot to someone else.

I know--- a 'do-gooder' politician's response! hahahahahaha

I send my congrats to JAMIE CULLUM and SOPHIE DAHL who have made a difference already in 2010,because a few days ago they got married,in Lyndhust,New Forest,Hampshire, hiring out all 29 rooms of a country house hotel for the reception.
So instead of each being single, they are now conjugally joined. Jamie Cullum sang a track: "What a difference a [wedding]day made" and it sure did. Chorus of: "Awwgh!!...didn't the bride look sweet/cute/happy in that dress!!"

Jamie Cullum Sophie Dahl Marry

Well l'd have to protest. How is the marriage of two people who l (and no doubt most of the population of the planet) have never heard of making a significant difference?
Re: Help, please? by Amaia on 13 January 2010 10:27am
Well, Kazz, I know both Jamie Cullum (amazing jazz musician and singer, totally worth a listening) and Sophie Dahl (though I know her coz she's HIS girlfriend - wife), and as sad this piece of news is to me (noooooo!), I have to agree with Kazz: their marriage is going to change their 2010, but certainly not ours... Therefore, I wouldn't count that as "making a difference".

And i don't know who will. Probably someone unknown and unexpected!
