BIOGRAPHY? by MelissaNIN on 30 May 2003 6:07am

Hello, i wanted to know if there is a biography on Michael Palin? I mean i have Python books but they do a small bio on him. what i am interested in is an autobiography, i guess that is what it is called. i'd like to read a book from Michael about Michael:) and if there isnt' one out there, then is there a book about Michael written by another person? lol. I'm off for the summer from college and would love to get my hands on a good book and reading about Michael would make the reading experience a lot of fun. i'm not a reader but this would get me going:)

Thanks!

~Melissa

There are a couple of biography's - not autobiographies. There's 'Michael Palin' by Jonothan Margolis (I think I got the name right...) and 'Life of Michael' by... ummm, someone else can probably give you some more info! lol, I do have a copy, but I can't be bothered walking up the hall to get it! I apologise for my laziness...
Hope I have helped somewhat.

Life of Michael was written by Jeremy Novick.

Cheers,
Michelle :)

Hi Melissa,

I think 'The Life Of Michael' is the best one to read and the most recent, September 2002, i think. It full of fab pictures and interviews! This is also the first book for which Michael has agreed to be interviewed. He talks about his life as a python and the rest of his work. You discover his favourite python sketch, why he is so fascinated with Hemingway, which places have marked him the most on his travelling adventures, and whether he really wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition. Well that's what it says on the back of the book.

It really is the best one, me thinks!

yes, "Life of Michael" is the best one but short on family photos which would have been fun. just one of wife Helen and the photos of the kids are great but they are really young. Would liked to have seen some up-to-date pix.
