An apology to the world from a resident of Ohio. by AGM on 3 November 2004 8:04pm

Just wanted to apologize to the world (On my behalf only. I can't and don't speak for anyone else in Ohio.) about the state of Ohio apparently voting to put President Bush back in the White House for four more years. More puzzled and horrified about this I could not be.

I don't think you should apologize! I like him better than Kerry any day! I don't think living a socialistic life would agree with me in this day and age. The 60's, 70's and 90's are gone, I hope. The leftist mindset needs over-hauling. And Daschle is gone, thank goodness.

John Kerry is about as socialist as Tony Blair (which ain't saying much believe me). There is no socialism in American politics (which is a great shame as the USA genuinely needs a radical alternative to the non-politics free-market insanity of Big Biz) but at least Kerry had some principles and a sense of the USA in the Global community, its roles and responsibilities. The world today is a more dangerous place as a result of this election and the rest of the world looks on with great fear and despair.

Ohio has quite a burden to bear. Fancy being responsible for another four years of impoverishing the already impoverished, pollution, global terrorism, bodged invasions, lies, stupidity et al.

If you could pinch the Ohio state television transmitter and replace it with one that doesnt spew out insular propaganda, you'd get my thumbs up.

Maybe we should just face the fact that, by and large, politicians are idiots. Maybe that's all we can do, shrug and move on.

I don't know. But my mom is ticked. She wants us to move to Canada now.

Someone frame that.

Look at the Exit Polls coming out of Ohio-they were in favor of Kerry.
Look at the electronic voting system with no 'paper trail' to follow that was used in Ohio-run by a company known for being a strong supporter of the Republican party.
Look at the strong young voter turn out in Ohio (young voters were known to support Kerry).
I do not blame the majority of the residents of Ohio for the outcome....I blame politics that are driven by the dollar for this.
kisses,
trixi
