ellenpc's Returned from the dead!!??? Well, the over worked, slightly under paid brigade...... by ellenpc on 14 November 2004 10:00am

Tis true!!! :^}

A HUGE HELLO! And an even bigger HUUUUUUUG ((((((((((())))))))))))to dear Helen, wonderful wingtip fancier :^}, Lyn Diamond 'ol buddy :^}, lovely Lou, faithful vid proggy taper :^, dear Dianne, spam partner :^}, cool Patty :^}, the wonderful crazy gang,,Phil, Kaz, Sophie- Lou and all of you great Palinite buddies, who have been badly neglected, while yours truly goes off and earns a living!!??? (I know, I know, that's no excuse!!!!!!!!)

It's so lovely to jump back in and read all your hilarious postings, you funny people you!!! :^} :^} Since the last time I was around, JFK was still President of the US!!

(Umm, actually that's not entirely true, as I did pop back here, incredibly briefly, for about a minute and a half, just over a month ago, to pass on and gain some info about Michael's appearences in Wellington, and I rudely wasn't able to get back and say "Hi" properly, until now.)

John and I flew up to Wellington from Christchurch (just like we did last Feb 2003)on Friday 12th Nov in order to see/hear Michael and hopefully get our book signed. Sadly, this time Dianne wasn't able to make it and we really missed her. :^{

Michael's talk was very funny and insightful, as he talked about various little events that had happend to him and the crew during their Himalayan journey.

In one hilarious moment, Michael described how he had asked the incredibly affable and welcoming Dalai Llama "whether he ever ,lost his temper??????" To which His Holiness emphatically replied that he had "lost his temper very, very much, veeery, very much, just the day before" and then after a pause, he wistfully added "in dream!"

After the talk and question time, we joined the queue and Michael kindly signed our Himalaya copy and then laughed as we produced a copy of a pic of Himself, Di and me which he had signed for us last year. Incredibly he remembered who we were and where it had been taken ( I got a taste of how you must of felt when Michael recognised you Lyn :^} ) He had signed it "To Ellen and John, Great to meet you! Michael Palin" along the top.

We asked him if he wouldn't mind signing it again, and he said he would be delighted to. He thought for a moment and then wrote along the bottom of the picture "Hi, it's me again (drawing an arrow pointing up to himself in the picture), Michael Palin 12/11/2004"

As you can imagine we were really tickled and thrilled to be able to briefly meet him in person again. He's such a kind, caring, intelligent and hysterically funny person..............as I know you all know!! :^}

Fingers crossed and a heap of hopeful thoughts that you in the US and elsewhere, get to see Himalaya very soon. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Lots of love

Ellen x

Ellen! I've been wondering for ages where you've been, and Diane too! It's so nice to see you back. Please don't disappear like that again! hahahahahaha.

Your recount of meeting Michael was great! You lucky lucky , "you know what"! lol

I am hoping that gorgeous man (in every respect) returns to my area again . It's not been since 2000 that he was in my vicinity. That was cute about him signing your picci again! lol.

Hiya Ello :^}, it's so nice to see you too, thankyou so much for your lovely welcome. x :^} How are you?? :^}

That episode with the elephant screened here last Tuesday night. I thought Michael was pretty brave to go in the water right next to the elephant, and then it was wonderful that he could make the elephant rumble with pleasure.

(do you think we should explain this scene a bit to the others who haven't seen Himalaya yet, or should we let their minds boggle on it for a little while?????????????? Evil grin ;^} )

HI Patty :^} How are ya??? :^}

I really hope Michael does get around to your neck of the woods and is able to swing past Helen's as well.....................

perhaps a REALLY snappy length of industrial strength elastic............

aim him in the right direction and PING!!!!

Ooops! pressed the send button prematurely.......(with head hung low.....outta practise :^{ )

HELEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :^} :^}

you'd love it here at the moment, kitten heeled, pointy toed, wingtips in various bubble gum colours are one of the styles in for the summer season. Teamed up with 50's style swing skirts, little cardies and twin sets decorated with sequins instead of pearls and halterneck tops in shocking pink and violently violet.
I'm determined to get a pair in your honour :^} x. The only slight hitch is that I have huge feet (well big for a female!!????????) size NZ 11, UK 9&1/5 - 10, not sure what that is in US sorry :^{. Unfortionately when I wear pointy toed shoes, you see the front of the shoe arriving about 5 mins before the rest of me does.....you know what I mean!! :^}

HIya Bertie :^} :^}
October eh.......that's great!! :^}

'Eees lovely, isn't he! :^} Yes, I agree with you totally, I sincerely hope as many fans as possible get to experience some of his magic.

Whilst standing in the signing queue last Friday I said to John just how incredibly lucky we were, as I think this may the last journey for a little while.

LYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYN!!! :^} :^}

Your turning into Palin booksigning Royalty!! Good one!!! :^} :^} :^}

Currant buns???????? YUMMMY!!!!! :^} How did you know!!!???

I swear they are the other food that make up my gastronomic holy trinity.....(next to spam of course, which is more on an ethereal level)

Marmite, broccoli and currant buns (the ones that are a little bit sticky on top and with white dough, not the greyish ones that you get at easter that are spiced>>)
