Finland in winter time by finnguy on 14 March 2005 3:43pm

Anyone know who started the 'Finland in winter time' thread and/or what it was about? It supposedly contained seven messages but they all appear to have disappeared in the recent confusion.

I'm just interested to see what it was about and, if it was a query, see if I can be of any assistance.

R u from finland hence the name 'finnguy'?

Funnily enough P.J., I'm actually from N. Ireland. But I've been living in Finland for the past 5 1/2 years.

Well, the fact that I married a Finnish girl brought me to Finland. Now that I'm here I'm working in publishing.

I'm in Finland too! Great place to travel to, everyone should come here. And that includes you, Michael!

I was in Helsinki a few years ago during the summer. I noticed that there were a lot of African people in traditional dress.

I waa chatting to a barman and asked him what the Finnish opinion was to having immigrants/refugees/whatever their status was from Africa intheir country.

"If they can stand the winter, they're welcome" he said.

One thing that may keep you warm in winter are the Indian restaurants in Helsinki - two of the best Indian meals I've eaten outside India.

We also have the best Russian food outside of Russia - and according to some sources, including Russia.

Comfy Chair, where in Finland are you? I'm in Helsinki.

Michael has, of course, visited Finland at least once. The Finnish section of Pole To Pole remains my favourite.

But Michael naked in a sauna with Lasse Lehtinen and Neil Hardwick? Hmmm, not too sure about that (although I reckon a lot of the ladies on here would disagree with me about that!).
