I was a little caught up in the aftermath of the Edgeware Road blast as I was at St. Mary's hospital in Paddington for an outpatients appointment. At this stage, we were being told it was a power surge but there were people walking round with soot smeared faces saying "It was a bomb. It wasn't a power surge." The hospital was evacuated of non in-patients and there was no transport so the streets were packed with a mixture of hospital outpatients and tourists lugging round heavy bags. I walked home via Queensway and a cup of tea and have been answering the 'phone ever since I got back. Thank goodness my family are all safe and well.

Sophie-Louise, my heart goes out to you. Please don't worry about not answering his mobile as the systems are jammed and there are a couple of signal blackspots around the city. *hug*

To everyone - please post here that you're safe and well - even the trolls.

I've just heard on the news that mobile phone networks have been switched off in central London as a precaution against remote bomb detonation by mobile (as happened in Madrid), so maybe that's why your brother isn't answering his phone. Let us know if you hear anything.
