Monty Python back...is it true? by Wild in Africa on 21 July 2005 5:56pm

This from the website of today's Sun newspaper (and if it is in the Sun it must be true...musn't it?)

MONTY PYTHON are making a comeback, it has been revealed.

A new six-part series will use new material and some best-loved old clips.

John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones will film the new clips at various locations including Teddington Lock in London and the Hollywood Bowl in California.

The five surviving Pythons will write and present one special episode each and team up to write a sixth super-episode in honour of the late Graham Chapman.

A spokesman for the US TV network PBS said: "They have all chosen their favourite bits from old Python films and the television series and linked them together in their own crazy way."

Monty Pythonís Personal Best will be screened in the US next year.

At the moment there are no plans to show the series in the UK.

I think it`s the Sunday Times you can`t believe, lol.

Yup, I`ve read about this on several sites recently. It seems these PBS programmes - or should I say programs - will be released on region 1 DVD ..?

Wow, that is so cool.
It was even page 3 news in the West Australian today, which was strange.
Hope that's a sign that they might show the specials over here!

Sounds good, but whats with the 'no plans to show the series in the UK' bit!? But...but...but... they HAVE to!! Thank goodness for multi region DVD players and the internet. We'll just have to order it online instead!

I found Eric Idle's and MP's "Personal Best" dvds already for order on Amazon for an August 30th release date. (Region 1 only, sorry UK people). I didn't see any other ones from the other chaps yet. I'll go look again.
