The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Elizabeth I. by tucsonmike on 21 November 2005 5:50am
Masterpiece Theater on American PBS network.
finished a two-part series with Anne-Marie Duff as Elizabeth. It was better than others I have seen. Mary Queen of Scots ends up a head and a wig shorter and the Spanish Armada takes a licking. The only problem I had was that Blackadder just makes me think with the costumes of Miranda Richardson as Queen Bess.

Anne-Marie Duff played her as a woman with all sorts of spirit. (I like a woman with spirit, Mrs. Fawlty). (I can see it now, I said I like a woman with spirit, I'm gonna get it in spades now).:-)

Methinks I should go to bed....

The Armada takes a licking?!! I thought they were invincible!! It must have been in overtime or something. Way to spoil the ending, Tucsonmike. I suppose she dies in 1603, too?!! Wait! don't tell me!

Was that Wellington who dumped the Armada or have I got the wrong war?

Wrong war George, LOL! Wellington would have had to have been 300 years old....
You are thinking of Sir. Francis Drake.

Nah, Intrepid. The Armada didn't go into overtime. They were whupped and scattered.
