You remember that DVD I sent? by bandgeek512 on 6 December 2005 3:48am

Yeah, so I *just* got back from my school's Christmas concert a couple of minutes ago. I had to go out into the rain and cold to get the mail, which I forgot to do this afternoon. I bring the mail back into the house and begin to rummage through it. I then spy a letter marked for me, via air mail.

I think to myself, "Why is this air mail?"

I open it, completely oblivious to what could be inside. I proceed to literally scream because I pull out a signed picture from Michael himself!!! I was completely not expecting it!!!

*breathe*

The picture says "To Layne and Haden, Best Wishes... Michael Palin"

I am utterly speechless. I was about to go to bed because I am so drained, but now there's no sleeping on my mind. I am so excited, literally shaking.

Thank you *so* much, Mr. Palin!!!!!!

The letter said that he was shown my letter and the DVD. That I'm nervous about as I acted like a complete strange person. Like Lindsey, my letter was dated the 29th. Neat!

I am SO excited!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!

:-D Mr. Palin is the GREATEST guy ever!!

YAAYY!!! I am so excited for you both! *jumps up and down with joy*
Michael is truly the most wonderful guy who ever lived. I felt exactly the same way when I got my signed photo.

That's great, Layne and Lindsey! You lucky people! Now you know the parcel got there safely, Layne!

I carried around my signed picture from Mr. Palin today. I had it in my notebook. Alas, nobody seems to share my sheer elation about receiving a signed picture. I keep getting comments like, ‘the letter itself wasn’t even *from* him’ and such. I was in the greatest mood ever upon arriving at school today, and yet some people still enjoy belittling my excitement, thus making me feel very, very small…

In response to the comments I got, I just continue to say that I wasn’t even expecting any sort of reply. I sent it merely because I wanted to show my appreciation. Given, I wanted to know he received it, but I was in no way expecting a reply from anybody. I knew how busy he is and how difficult it is to reply to every single letter.

But, receiving a reply about his being shown my DVD was the best thing ever! The signed picture made it even better, too. All I wanted to know was if he saw it, and he did! That is all I care about!!! But, having my excitement belittled like that is crushing. I was so utterly excited when I got the letter that having people tell me that it isn’t that big of a deal kind of made me upset.

In spite of the rudeness of people at school, I am still SO very pleased that I got a signed picture. I’ve got it with me right now. :-D YAY!!

Take no notice of these people, they are just jealous! YOU are the one with the signed photo of Mr. P.

You lucky, lucky bastard. ;-)

I'm a bit envious, you know, but in a good way. :-) It's awesome that Michael saw your DVD and replied to you! :-)

I'm planning to write him myself, probably after my exams in February, when I have more free time. Because this will require a good deal of careful planning and preparation! ;-) :-D

haha wow lucky Layne! I'd write myself but I just wouldn't know what to say!
I think some of us should watch our language ;)

It's so humbling to know that he actually took time out for you to watch the DVD you made especially for him. That should make you feel good inside. Don't let kids like that get you down, they obviously don't realise how much it means to have such love returned.
