To the person who first posted this thread:

I wouldn't advise meeting any of these losers who frequent this site. You would be bored to death within 5 minutes of meeting them.

you are right, Dubya. you do sound really boring. I think I would rather give myself a cheese grater facial than meet you.

Re: Meet & greet?? by George Dubya on 21 March 2005 2:40pm

Well it certainly would improve your looks.

Re: Meet & greet?? by Helen on 21 March 2005 2:53pm

I do have a little zit on my right cheek right now, and a cheese grater should take care of that bad boy right quick. Thanks for the suggestion!

see, you aren't really a good for nothing war monger like your father!

now hold on just one cotton-pickin' minute. what's with all the mudslinging?

first of all, we are here because we respect and admire michael palin. that is the core reason for us getting together here to chat. therefore, if anyone has a problem with those who wish to express, in an exuberant fashion, their admiration for michael, then maybe you should examine your own reasons for being here.

secondly, nobody here should be subjected to name-calling. to call someone a "loser" when you have never met them, and essentially do not know them from adam, is unacceptable behaviour. now, i have never met michael in person but i have followed his career since i was knee-high to a grasshopper and i feel a deep affection and sincere admiration for the man. he is, as far as i can tell, a sweet, kind, patient, warm human being who looks for the good in people. we would do well to follow his example.

enough said? or do i have to charge up my cattle prod?

oh and ahren, "passepartout" is not a what, it's a who. in jules verne's novel "around the world in 80 days", passepartout is phileas fogg's trusty manservant/companion.

that's why in the tv series, michael often refers to basil pao (his photographer) as "passepartout".

Oh! I thought it meant like "access all areas" or was a bodyguard or something!

Like Sam in Lord of the Rings.

Actually his *entire* entourage is referred to as Passepartout -- Ron Passepartout, Nigel Passepartout, Dave Passepartout... I think in French it means 'going everywhere'?? How apropos!

BTW, are there any more takers for a meet & greet?? June 27 Bayswatcher. Er, I mean, Bayswater (in a public place with escape routes)...

I don't bite. Really.

And I haven't killed anyone all week.
8-)
