Geraldine, there is a thick blanket of smog covering the city again today. As soon as you step outside you can smell the smoke. The weather is due to heat up again shortly. I pray the fires don't worsen over the Christmas/New Year period.

They're saying that the firs could burn for thre months, they're now licking at the back fences of people's houses ina place called Walhalla, which is a beautiful mountain town.
We can't have any doors or windows open and can't dry washing outside and have been advised to stay indoors, my daughter and I have been getting asthma. The temperatures are in the high 30s tomorrow, rain is prediced for the weekend though, please make it a decent rainfall and not a few drops! The poor firefighters are exhausted and the Canadian and NZ firefighters are all helping out, which is great.

Let's hope that the rain will come at the weekend so that everyone affected can enjoy Christmas without the worry.

Not good getting asthma!
