Britain in the World. by tucsonmike on 8 April 2007 3:30am

I am reading the Economist and thought of this because of the British military captives by the Iranians.

The freed captives are to be allowed to sell their story, which would not normally be allowed by the military. Since they hardly covered themselves in glory, I think it is a disgrace that they should profit from it.
Whatever happened to "name ,rank and serial number" ?

The Economist also went on to say that they thought British sailors were chosen because they were thought to be a "softer target."

A poll in the articles stated most Britons just want the military to do peacekeeping missions. The article also felt the United States is going to have to eat crow and talk with the Iranians.

The mess in Iraq has unwittingly made Iran the strongest country in the region by taking out the Taliban and Saddam Hussein.

whatever happens the 'balance of power' will get knocked off kilter and the world leaders might not recover for ages.

And those captives, I wonder what really happened to them, how they were treated and all. I mean, it's pretty confusing with all this propaganda on both sides.
though must admit they did look quite silly reading all this staff about "bad Iranians" from paper.
