Arizona Book Festival by tucsonmike on 16 April 2007 6:50am

Well it was a blast. I found out scheduled pub date for my book is now early next year. I got to wear my cowboy hat and boots and pass out fliers. Great fun. I was in the booth with one of our other authors.

The old Carnegie Library is in a park at 10th and Washington. It is just West of downtown Phoenix in an industrial neighborhood. It is three blocks West of Chase Field, so I could have gone to the D'backs game afterwards. (I think many people who came later in the day did just that). I enjoyed being on the C Span 2 book bus and meeting other authors. My friend Eileen was featured and gave a talk to another sixty people and then signed books. I plan to tell her Wed. her first book should be picked up by Lifetime TV Network.

The only thing? I HATE driving in Phoenix!! The only saving grace was driving the back way home through the Gila River Indian Reservation and Florence. Avoided the interstate and had the road to myself.

Country Thunder was going on in Florence, but I did not have the time nor money to attend this year. Beautiful day, car windows down, met great people and drove. Yerbie was in the door when I arrived home. Such a good cat.

I told you about how we spent hours trying to get off the fly-over thing in Phoenix didn't I Mike!!

Glad you enjoyed it - hope you'll be doing some book-signings our way so I can show-off my friend the famous author!! ;-)

So you wore your hat and boots, cowboy dude!!! We both bought cowboy hats in Arizona!!

I am currently working on Chapter 4 of my 'best-selling'(I wish) novel . Oh well I am going to crack on with it and hope.

A national newspaper has a competition running for unpublished authors, with a £30k publishing prize, so I am going to try and enter. NOT that I have much hope, but you gotta give it a go, haven't you.
