Only I would be so irreverent. I was watching the Dodgers-Padres game on ESPN. Today is the 60th Anniversary of Jackie Robinson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Robinson

being the first African-American allowed to play Major League Baseball. Many of the players (and six entire teams) were wearing his playing number in honor. All yours truly could suddenly think of?

The answer is always 42!

Here's to #42, who got a LOT WORSE than "nappy headed ho." Thanks to Jackie Robinson, no one has to tolerate it anymore.

BTW my husband wears 3.14 when he plays softball.
#42 Mariano Rivera by Lounge Trekker on 16 April 2007 6:51pm
I watched the Athletics' 9th inning, last batter, two-strike comeback over the Yankees last night. Marco Scutaro with a three-run homer.

Mariano Rivera is the only player in the bigs that can wear #42, after the number was retired in Jackie Robinson's honour. It didn't help him last night.

You don't think Jackie would have let the Yankees win on his day of honor? :^)
