Any Filmmakers Out There? by tucsonmike on 19 April 2007 6:29am

I was given information for the Kazakh Film Festival. It can be a film up to five years old. Deadline is July 15th.

You melted a goat? LOL! Maybe I will make a short about Yerbie. Maybe not. When I told the real Yerbolat about Yerbie, he giggled nervously.

Is Yerbolat Moslem? Moslems find it very insulting when dogs are given human names; don't know what they think about cats, though.

Yes I read that, Geraldine [or did you tell me ha ha].

Tosun is Turkish for bull - but is also the surname of the Turkish family we are great friends with.

Our cats are Ebru (a type of glass but also a female member of the family) and Feyza (a female member of the family who died 18 years ago when she was 12 - don't know if it means something else).

They know we have called our animals after them and don't seem to be offended - only the ones who jokingly ask why they are not called after them!!

They do find cats dirty - well if they looked after them better they wouldn't be ha ha.

However I notice that Whiskas and various dog food is now available in the supermarkets - very expensive!!

And Kazzzz - "its a documentary about farming" - a likely story !!!

;-)

I think Yerbolat is Moslem. Kazakhs are not particularly religious. Until the early 20th Century, most were nomads.
