Thank you! My material great-grandfather was an Irish immigrant named McCarty, so I have a bit of Irish blood in me veins and a bit of Irish mischief in me soul.

Echoed heartily. ONE great-great-grandfather of mine was Irish, but I don't think that counts!

Happy St Patrick's Day all!

Family myth states that on my mother's side we came over to England from Ireland during the potato famine in the 19th century.

During my family tree quest I haven't found evidence of this .....YET.

:)

Nice to see that Google (who are always aware of the moment) have decorated their logo with what I presume to be shamrocks,in honour of St.Patrick's Day.
p.s. does any clever palin person know who this St.Patrick was?

St. Patrick was the man who invented Guinness.

Happy Paddy's Day.

Hello. My Great-Grandfather on my father's side was Irish, He had this bad habit if walking home at night along railway tracks. he did it for years, but then one day he got unlucky, and got hit by a train - ouch.

My step-Grandfather was also Irish. He used to think he looked like Danny Kaye! He didn't.
