Don't forget to use your vote today, peeps - don't care WHO you vote for (well, I'd prefer you to vote Labour but still :P ) BUT we HAVE to keep the BNP out !!

Sadly, my local Council, Staffordshire, which once paid my salary (and my husband's) and now pays both our (early) pensions, is no longer Labour which it had been since 1981.

A sad day indeed.

:(

Writing on Sunday, after the weekend's carnage: the Eurocount to come.

I'm sorry about Staffordshire, Anne - I thought of you when we were in the political office looking at the results.

Never going to be a good night for Labour, but, look at it this way, Cameron didn't get the 40% share of the vote he STILL needs to be absolutely sure at next general election.

It ain't all over yet...

Yes, we had the European Parliament elections here in London. I hear the BNP got 2 seats.

It's such a pity that Gordon made such a big cock up of being PM. He should have stuck to being Chancellor but was too power hungry. Iraq destroyed Blair's credibility, especially with Labour voters, and essentially dreadful leadership combined with the recession have destroyed Brown's.
Horrendous that the BNP could get any degree of power and I despair of the prospect of a future Tory Government but Labour has really brought about their own doom.
I would really hope that a Labour/Green/Lib Dem coalition could keep out the right but tht seems to be p-ing into a hurricane.
