I'd take her side in this case, because other soldiers are allowed to have their relatives look after their kids, but she wasn't. It sucks if they are able to recruit soldiers from the Caribbean island of St. Vincent, but then not give them the same privileges as the British soldiers who come from the UK.

Call me old fashioned but when my father fought in WW2 in North Africa, the Sicily landings, Monte Cassino and Greece, I don't think there were any battlefield creches. |

A former lady major in the army had an article in the Mail today saying (in precis form) that it was crazy for anyone to expect the army to bend to such political correctness when their front line job requires the devotion of the forces to their duties. Does it really make sense for them to be making arrangements for child minders when they are fighting wars? |

The world would be a better place if women knew their place. I'm serious.
Their place is with their children till at least school age.
I've brought up two daughters who have never once had to be looked after by anyone other than their parents and my mother did the same with six of us.
It's all about greed. The greed factor has driven down wages and for a while sent house prices into the stratosphere.
" Oh, we both have to work to pay the mortgage. "
Yes, only because enough numpties like you decided " The second wage will pay the mortgage. " which in turn drove up house prices.
When I was at school, I knew one kid from divorced parents and the only single parents were widows.
Striving to get back to even near that would cure the mess our society ( U.K. ) is in.

lol thanks for clearing that up for us :D
For all incurable tabloid addicts, I recommend plenty of fresh air and taking up some kind of constructive hobby.
Seriously, the world looks much much worse than it really is when viewed through newspaper (or tv news) glasses. |
