The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Goodbye Gerry by perfectbitch on 6 January 2011 11:00am
Sad to read of the death of Gerry Rafferty yesterday. "Baker Street" an all time favourite of mine and many others I'm sure.

Very sad. I loved his music.

My uncle passed away two days before Christmas, I have just spent the last three days throwing his, and his wife's, lifetime of memories into a dumpster.

The stuff they held onto! Some of the attachments I can understand, others, no! I wonder what will I consider indisposable for memories' sake?

Examples of stuff I can understand, a couple of baby outfits from their only child. The not so obvious hoarding, hundreds of boxes of matches, thousands of photos, 2 baby cribs, beds (all disembled) my uncle even kept his army duffle bags from the Korean war, but I can understand that, religious figures, books, magazines and toys out the wazoo! If you don't know where the wazoo is located on the human body, I am not drawing you a picture.

Anyway, poor Gerry rafferty leaves behind a musical legacy. He was young to die as was Peter postlewaite, did I even spell the man's name correctly?

I think most people save things to remind them of happy things in their lives.
