The Palinites Charter has been released! by Benedikte on 6 June 2003 5:43pm

Dear friends altogether,

I case you missed it: the Palinites charter has been released. I'd say: enjoy it. And if you wonder who wrote it, well, uhm, argh, it's uuuh, ME! :))

1) You shall have no other Gods before Michael, unless they be called Terry, Eric, Terry, John or Graham
2) You shall not make yourself any carved image - oh what the heck, as if anyone DOES make himself a carved image these days
3) You shall not take the name of your God in vain, unless you think it's goddamn necessary
4) Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Does not apply to believers with short term memory loss
5) Honor your father and your mother and your nephews and your nieces and your pets and do not forget that tree at the end of the road
6) You shall not murder. (I'm not gonna interpret this one, still looks fine to me)
7) You shall not commit adultery. Unless, well, you're a single and therefore not adulterous when sleeping with someone. That's single as well. I think.
8) You shall not steal things worth less than 10£. 'Cause it isn't worth going through legal procedures for such a meaningless amount of money.
9) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. Surely not if you haven't got any.
10) You shall not covet your neighbour's house. Does this mean: destroy it instead? Charters should be more specific...

Post your reactions now! (yes, you too Mr Palin!)

I've got a carrot from our garden that we kept because it bears a striking resemblence to Michael as he appeared in '80 Days', when he is wearing that hat, just as he's climbing aboard the Dhow. You know the one I mean. The cream coloured trilby, with a dark band around the middle and the slightly turned down brim. Well if you can imagine that in orange, even with the eyebrows, that's our carrot to a tee.

Are vegetables exempt from no.2???
