The Doors. by johnnyBgood! on 5 June 2012 4:46pm

I'm listening to them atm and thinking what a sad loss to the world that Jim was.
He was unfortunately a member of the 27 club. I'm now twice that age and he continues to bring me pleasure through his music. In my opinion, Jim was a genius but in his own words was like a shooting star. When I listen to my faves, who have mostly departed, death no longer scares me.

As you know the Doors are my all time faves, especially Jim.

A few years ago we drove through Los Angeles with LA Woman blasting !

I have a few Doors number on my favourite playlist. Jim Morrison was sensational and remains alive through his recordings and the enjoyment of those who listen to him.

It is far too early to be scared of dying, and I'm not even scared of all the living I get to do between now and then, either.

My all time favourite track is 'Hello I love You'.

Of course there are others that I love too, such as Riders on the Storm, LA Woman, The End, Love Street, etc etc - but my very fave is Hello I love you.

Miss you terribly, Mr Mojo Risin'.

Your faves are almost the same as mine Anne, although I'd probably place LA Woman at the top of my list.

Anne, I'm totally heterosexual but even I can see Jim's allure. He exuded sexuality as well as geniusness. My 3 girls love him and even wee Jacob has a Doors t-shirt. :)

I can remember listening to 'The End' over 40 years ago, when my eldest brother, who now considers himself perfect, was tripping on LSD. Both the sight of him and the words of the track were rather scary to a ten year old.
