The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Banana Slicer by Loretto on 29 December 2012 12:56pm
Yes, there is such a thing! one of the women who posted on Palins when I first came here posted a link to Amazon.com for a Banana Slicer!

The item has received almost 1,100 reviews, mostly funny ones, like this one:

"No more winning for you, Mr. Banana!, March 3, 2011
By SW3KFor decades I have been trying to come up with an ideal way to slice a banana. "Use a knife!" they say. Well...my parole officer won't allow me to be around knives. "Shoot it with a gun!" Background check...HELLO! I had to resort to carefully attempt to slice those bananas with my bare hands. 99.9% of the time, I would get so frustrated that I just ended up squishing the fruit in my hands and throwing it against the wall in anger. Then, after a fit of banana-induced rage, my parole officer introduced me to this kitchen marvel and my life was changed. No longer consumed by seething anger and animosity towards thick-skinned yellow fruit, I was able to concentrate on my love of theatre and am writing a musical play about two lovers from rival gangs that just try to make it in the world. I think I'll call it South Side Story.

Banana slicer...thanks to you, I see greatness on the horizon."

Some one else wrote that the item was unacceptable because it was bent in the opposite direction of all their bananas!

Another person rated it ok, "it works better than the hammer I've been using to slice my bananas."

I like this one too:

"Once I figured out I had to peel the banana before using - it works much better.
Ordering one for my nephew who's in the air force in California. He's been using an old slinky to slice his banana's. He should really enjoy this product!"

....or try this one. Insert and rotate a needle at various point in said banana, then peel it with shock amazement in front of your kids ( or gullible other half). ;)

So Johnny, I'm on that 100 mile diet. I now weigh 43 pounds yet still want to be a good host by serving local food. Do you have any clever tricks using the only food I eat between October and May?

There's only so much you can do with mushrooms and moss. I'll need to go up a few distance classes to eat bananas...the 10 000 mile diet.
