Rik Mayall's Bottom by notquitenglish on 25 October 2003 8:50pm

(you think I'm joking?)
Anyway, for the simple reason that I'm a card-carrying maniac, I borrowed forty dollars from my mom the day before yesterday, and bought the complete DVD set of the tv show Bottom (which I really wish had a different name, I mean figure this conversation:
Me: What's your favorite thing you've ever done?
Rik: Well, I've always had a soft spot for 'Bottom'.
Me: I'll bet you have!
Rik: Ooh-er!)
So I watched it (I'd only ever seen one episode) and oh lordy lordy, it is so funny! Funnier than the Young Ones! Not as funny as Python but it comes close quite a lot! And they had outtakes too and every time Rik said something wrong he would cover his mouth and say "Bum!" which was funny enough in itself, and there was Ade Edmonson saying things I wouldn't repeat, and very funny all. I'm quite happy now.... ta very much!

Hi, stupid question but is Rik Mayall the short guy in Parenthood and Honey I Shrunk The Kids? Not sure if I'm thinking of the same one here!

Hey! When I was ten I had the biggest crush on Rick Moranis. I thought he was so incredibly adorable in "Ghostbusters" and "Little Shop of Horrors." Friends from elementary school still laugh at me about my crush ten years after the fact. I can't believe that I'm admitting this. It should be one of those things I talk about to a psychoanalyst and no one else.

I'm not a psychoanalyst!

But I am a psycho!

Talk to me!

(Rik Mayall, yes. Rick Moranis, no. Good lord.)
