Gap Year by PilchardsInOil on 1 October 2004 11:42pm

Righty, since I'm due to start working at WHSmiths in a couple of weeks, and the sole reason for this is to fund my gap year, I thought I'd ask seasoned travellers such as yourselves where's best to go.

Any suggestions at all would be most welcome, as would personal experiences..?

Merci!

How about backpacking from western Portugal, all the way through Spain and end up in eastern Spain, just like George Bush's daughters did in there gap year.

OR

You could board a coal barge in Rotterdam and travel all the way up the River Rhine throgh Holland, France, Germany and Switzerland into Lake Constantine.
