Gospel Oak by Becky Bendall on 25 April 2005 1:47pm

I was thrilled to read in the papers this weekend that Michael might do a study of the history of Gospel Oak. I live at Gospel Oak in Staffordshire but I am a fraud because The Gospel Oak is in my neighbour's garden. They also live at Gospel Oak. The tree is very ancient, reputedly in the Doomesday Book and was a meeting place for prayer meetings for hundreds of years. Its history has never been certain but now I know that Michael is on the case I'm looking forward to finding out the truth.

Which Gospel Oak did he mean though? I think Michael lives in Gospel Oak, but in London

yes, michael's gospel oak is in NW1 (city of camden)

but there are several across the country. he could certainly do a study of the various gospel oaks throughout britain. that would be fascinating!
